More Characters!

Quick Note: Not all of these characters will be introduced at once. In fact, it may be some time before you see many of them.

Remy Harkens (Sydal) - 37 years old, Henry andVictoria's youngest brother, thus making him Lydia, Jean, and Patrick's uncle. Remy is unbelievably charming and handsome by most standards. Like his brother Henry, Remy's powers have been modified so that they do not effect anyone carrying the Family's DNA. What are those powers exactly? Similar to his brother, Remy has the gift of persuasion... but in an after-hours "would you like a cup of coffee?" way. To put it bluntly, Remy's body gives off a phermone that makes him sexually irrestiable to anyone who encounters this, man and woman alike. Unlike the cold, distant Victoria and the calculating Henry, Remy loves life and is always smiling, absorbing the world around him and experiencing everything life has to offer. Naturally, this makes him an outcast to the family and he adopted the last name of Harkens to help hide out.

Lt. Maria Thompson - 34 years old, Maria Thompson is an african american police officer of the city that the story takes place in. Tough as nails and confident in her abilities, Maria has clawed her way to where she is today, moving past the limitations many forced on her due to her race and sex. Lt. Thompson has been put in charge of the vigilante case and sees this as the opportunity she has been waiting for to further prove her worth and abilities to her colleagues. Maria is career-driven, but disgusted by the many legal loopholes that many criminals have exploited in order to triumphantly walk out of jail cells and court rooms.

Mary Sydal - 27 years old, Riley's older sister and Henry's wife. Mary is beautiful, soft-spoken, and tries to be a loving wife and sister to Henry and Riley respectively. Additionally, Mary has been watching Riley his entire life due to her abilities to observe the dreams of anyone she wishes. Mary gave birth to Christina Sydal five years ago, making her the first woman to give birth to the first "purebred" Family member. Sadly, Mary has the misfortune of being caught in the middle of her brother and husband's cold war as well as feeling the distrust that Riley has for her.

Christina Sydal - 5 years old, Henry and Mary's daughter and Riley's niece. Christina is the first "purebred" family member and considered the future of the Family. Her abilities haven't manifested themselves yet but many assume she will have the strongest abilities to date due to her heritage. Like most children her age, Christina has boundless energy, a reluctancy towards naps, and tomboy/girly traits that show up from time to time.

Christopher Sydal - 42 years old, older brother of Remy and younger brother of Victoria and Henry, Christopher is the leader of the Forsaken, a group of family members whose abilities or appearances are too extreme to coexist in the civiliazed world. Christopher has the ability to transform into a living shadow that absorbs the energy of any living thing that touches it. The effects of the energy absorbtion is usually a short-term coma, but if Christopher doesn't feed often enough, he'll fall into a coma himself. The Forsaken reside in the rural regions of Canada's tundra where they are generally left alone from humanity. Christopher's eyes are solid white but turn to black when he begins to hunger, thus transforming him to a more feral state. Additionally, Christopher's appearance begins to look more and more demonic the longer he goes without feeding.

Eleanor "Ellie" Linnell - 23 years old, nerd chic appearance. Riley's friend and roommate, as well as one of the few humans who eventually find out about the Family. Riley met Ellie through their job at a record store and eventually moved in with her after the pre-meditated murder of his previous roommate and friend. Ellie is a grad school student in Literature and figures out very quickly that there is more to Riley than he lets on. Ellie is generally one of the more clear-headed, intelligent characters in the story and eventually becomes close friends with Lydia. Despite her life being put in danger numerous times, Riley is stunned by Ellie's bravery in the face of death.
